Absolutely the freshest and most tender burger ever. Root beer as it should be in a frosty mug coupled with homemade fries. Fry sauce without having to tell them what it is! Great family atmosphere with friendly servers. Can't be beat.
This place is a ripoff! The food is mediocre, the "ambiance" is dirty, and they nickel and dime you. Fry sauce is extra, they totally skimp on the napkins; my boys ordered small personal pizzas that I promise were frozen crust-- they were completely overpriced. I asked for daughter's burger to be lettuce wrapped because she is Gluten Free. I found out later it was an extra charge, even though lettuce costs less than a bun. Do yourself a favor and skip Hires. There is much better food out there at this price point, and I wish I had a time machine to take back our decision to eat here tonight!
I've been to other Hires Big H locations and the food was quite a bit better.
Big H is great Golden H even better. They have the best onion rings. Get an ice cold mug of root beer or a root beer float or my favorite the root beer freeze.
I mentioned that fact to the person taking my money and all I got was a "Oh, sorry about that."
The other locations have been a lot better, perhaps that's because they got the order right the first time.
I always enjoy my experience and food at hires. The people are friendly and the burgers are old school, which I love. Check it out for a quick and delicious meal.
The fries today were effectively raw potatoes that had been briefly dipped in hot oil. I couldn't even eat them.
