Went in to tame the back of my hair. They trimmed it and didn't charge me full price since I wasn't getting a full haircut. They did a great job too.
Now I'm as much of a techie as the next man but if you're computer can't do as good of a job as pen and paper maybe your not using it right, or maybe it's time for a new computer, or maybe it's time to go back to pen and paper or maybe it's just nap time? IDK but I don't like walking into an establishment and being made to feel as if it's my job to do their job. That's what I'm paying them for in the first place. Besides that the counter that I put my glasses down on was still dirty from the last patrons hair and the stylist next to me was too busy yaking on the phone to work on the patron that she was assigned to. I really felt as if my visit was unappreciated.

Not good. I wanted a bob cut, but not so blunt at the end, but not layered. The lady layers up to the tips of my ears! Remember, NOT layered? Oh but don't worry, she layered like crazy on the left and nothing on the right. She cut it way too short and it looks exactly like the picture I showed her NOT to cut it like! She was very nice and super happy but sucked. Oh well, I guess hair grows out. But not how I wanted my new summer looks to look.
I have been going here for years. Tammy is the best. The other stylists are good too. I usually go during the early afternoon on a weekday to avoid the wait. Once or twice I wasn't happy with the cut when Tammy wasn't in, but it was still waaaaay better than the cheap cuts I've had at other places in the valley.
I thought all Fantastic Sam's were created equal, but that's definitely not the case unfortunately. The good thing though is this location is awesome! I've had a few different stylists cut my hair and they've all be great. Plus they're open on Sunday which is a great time to sneak away to get a relaxing hair cut. Fantastic Sam's always will wash (it's actually more like a massage) your hair before or after cutting depending on your preference and use a straight razor on your neck with a hot towel for an extra close shave.
So I just got my hair cut at Fantastic Sam's at The Shops in Ft. Union and while I am satisfied with the product I can't say the same for the service. At the start of the process the beautician looked up my record by using my phone number then asked me what size of blade she should use on her clippers. I told her that I didn't know but that I was sure that it would be in my file. She looked and came back with a lame answer that their records didn't include haircuts, they only had room on their computer for dye jobs and perms. Folks, I've been getting my hair cut since the 60's and back then they didn't have computers but they did keep a record of my visits on something called card stock with a pen and they filed it away in a thing called a filing cabinet.
